We run a number of SEN sessions throughout the week that give children the opportunity to play in a non-judgemental environment whilst parents can enjoy a hot drink, biscuit and a chat.

AB UK is a charity which hosts SEN playgroups and parent support group for any families with children who have autism and additional needs. Alongside Neurotypical and Inclusive play sessions at our new home – 2a Worsley Street.
We set up AB UK following our Son, Beaudon’s diagnosis because as parents, we felt really isolated at the lack of support available and did not want others to feel this way.
It was important for me to be surrounded by other families on a similar journey. It was this journey, support and non-judgmental environments, that provided the inspiration and momentum for AB UK.
The main aim of the charity is to assist families whose lives have been impacted by the diagnosis of a loved one. This includes all the stress, anxiety and trauma that is involved in dealing with it on a day-to-day basis.
As a charity, AB UK also aim to spread awareness of Autism and assist in building a more open, accessible and accepting community for our children to access in the future.
Our groups runs Tuesday and Thursday evenings, Saturday Mornings, and all day Sunday. These sessions offer help, advice, and guidance for families and children with autism and additional needs. We also host holiday playgroups and provide exclusive monthly trips to The Space Centre in Preston
Our aim is to give structure and support to families when they need it most.
The year prior to Beaudon starting school was a really difficult one for me personally. The level of stress and anxiety attached to the whole process had a huge effect on me and as such, I really want to help and support other parents experiencing similar challenges.
My vision for AB UK is to support families outside of their school life.
We have held a number of fundraising events, predominantly to raise awareness and acceptance. However, we couldn’t believe the support we got from the local community and it’s given us that real momentum and drive to take things forward.
We run a number of sessions weekly which provides children the opportunity to play in a safe, calm and non-judgmental environment whilst parents can enjoy a hot drink, biscuit and a chat.
We also take small groups of people every month to The Space Centre in Preston.
We celebrate every occasion by hosting parties (with a difference) including children’s birthdays, Christmas, Easter, Halloween, etc.
The group is run by myself and a small group of volunteers, trustees, and employees.
